Cyberpunk: Edgerunners tells a standalone, 10-episode story about a street kid trying to survive in a technology and body modification-obsessed city of the future. Having everything to lose, he chooses to stay alive by becoming an edgerunner—a mercenary outlaw also known as a cyberpunk.

Rhodes Island, a pharmaceutical company researching a cure for Oripathy, takes up their arms and starts a conquest trying to save all the people from the disease.

However, the group's ability to govern has come to halt since the mysterious disappearance of the General Student Council president. Countless issues have begun to surface throughout Kivotos in the absence of the president's leadership.

To avoid disaster, the General Student Council requests assistance from the Federal Investigation Club, otherwise known as Schale. In fact, Schale is the city's newest club and the last to be approved before the president's disappearance.

To accomplish its task, Schale relies on the guidance of a Sensei who can help them resolve the incidents around Kivotos.

The "Tasokare Hotel" never sees afternoon, nor does it see night, but rather exists in a state of endless twilight.

This hotel exists in a limbo state, as a place that allows souls who have not yet decided if they are meant to on to the afterlife, or remain in the world of the living, to rest their wings. The protagonist, Neko Tsukahara, comes across this "Tasokare Hotel" with no memory of who she is or how she came to be there.

An employee leads the way and shows Neko to her room, explaining, "In these rooms, there should be items that are related to our guests' memories. These items can also serve as clues to help our guests who they were before they arrived here." As Neko searches for a way to return to this world and who she was, a certain incident confronts her...
