In the far future, war has destroyed the entire Earth, leaving only a barren wasteland where the supply of water is controlled by the greedy king. In search of a long-lost lake, Sheriff Rao asked the king of the demons for help...and got the king's son, Beelzebub, and his assistant, Thief. Together the unlikely trio sets off across the desert, facing dragons, bandits and the deadliest foe of all... the King's army itself!

The first half of the SAND LAND: THE SERIES anime, episodes one to six, are titled “Akuma no Ooji” and is based on the film adaptation with some new footage, it will premiere alongside episode seven, which is the first episode of a brand-new arc titled “Tenshi no Yuusha”.

Gorilla Grodd's time displacement machine transports many of Batman's worst enemies to feudal Japan - along with the Dark Knight and a few of his allies. The villains take over the forms of the feudal lords that rule the divided land, with the Joker taking the lead among the warring factions. Crunchyroll announced during Sony Group Corporation’s CES 2025 press conference that an anime series based on Sucker Punch Productions’ Ghost of Tsushima video game and its Ghost of Tsushima: Legends multiplayer experience is officially in production. The anime will exclusively premiere on Crunchyroll in 2027.

The Japanese research lab SACLA has released a short anime titled "Future Photon Harima Sakura" to promote their X-ray Free Electron Laser (X-FEL), the brightest x-ray source in the world.

As described on her official webpage, the feature character Harima Sakura is a G4-type Picodroid, a living entity with self-learning and evolutionary capability. She can shrink down and dive into the world of atoms, invisible to the human eye, known as the "Pico Universe." Her athletic ability is very high. In cooperation with a variety of researchers and scientists, she explores the world inside atoms with a strong sense of justice.
